Cigna releases new edition of COVID-19 vaccine perception study: 5 things to know

Cigna’s International Markets business released the third edition of its COVID-19 Vaccine Perception Study. The study surveyed 13,000 people across 11 markets to highlight perceptions and attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccines around the world, according to a July 15 news release.

Five things to know:  

  1. Respondents cited a sense of collective responsibility as the main motivation behind getting vaccinated.
  2. Vaccination rates among respondents increased from 25 percent in April to 31 percent in May.
  3. Vaccine acceptance has increased from 63 percent to 69 percent in the last three months.
  4. The percentage of those delaying vaccination until more people have received the vaccine fell from 50 percent to 42 percent. 
  5. Nine percent of unvaccinated respondents said they cannot be persuaded to receive the vaccine.
