Lynn Garrison, supplier diversity administrator at BCBS of Michigan, said the veteran’s business council familiarized the BCBS procurement buyers, managers and staff with its services.
“Mr. King [president of the council] was a speaker at our ‘Doing Business With’ series,” Ms. Garrison said in a prepared statement. “The goal was to give the buyers and staff a better understanding and awareness of the importance of working with diverse businesses, as well as how this affects the community — and essentially circles back around to the company.”
