Effective Jan. 1, the Central Illinois county is switching to Health Alliance to preserve employees’ access to their current physicians, according to WLDS-WEAI.
The move comes nearly a month after the payer and provider’s contract negotiations fell through, affecting about 100,000 patients.
Earlier in December, Macomb, Ill.-based McDonough District Hospital announced a similar move directly due to the dispute between Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and Springfield Clinic.
