Amazon, Michigan insurer create storefront for beneficiaries: 3 details

Priority Health, a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based insurer, partnered with Amazon to develop a branded storefront that beneficiaries can use to purchase eligible items with their health savings account and flexible spending accounts.

Three quick notes:

1. Priority Health members can shop for thousands of eligible items, including bandages and contact solution, through the Amazon storefront and use their HSA or FSA debit cards to purchase those items. Categories include baby and childcare, home testing kits, medical supplies and equipment, pain relief and sports.

2. Members can streamline paperwork for reimbursement by adding their HSA or FSA debit to their Amazon account, or they can purchase items through Amazon and submit receipts to the company.

3. Priority Health serves more than a million members each year and includes 97 percent of primary care physicians in Michigan. It is the second largest health plan in the state and includes employer groups as well as Medicare and Medicaid plans.
