Aetna inks value-based agreement with Community Care of North Carolina

Aetna's Medicaid members will gain access to Community Care of North Carolina's physician network and care management services under a new agreement.

Under the value-based partnership, CCNC, Community Care Physician Network and Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services Network will provide medical home and care coordination services for Aetna's Medicaid members in North Carolina.

The collaboration comes as North Carolina is moving its Medicaid program to a managed care operation. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is expected to release a request for proposal as soon as this spring seeking firms to manage the Medicaid system. Aetna will participate in the RFP.

The partnership builds on an existing relationship between Aetna and CCNC.
