1. Hearing over $21M in alleged unpaid BCBS claims to Texas hospital postponed
A hearing scheduled for Sept. 10 regarding a Texas hospital's temporary restraining order against Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas has been pushed back.

2. Cigna, claims processor settle chiropractor lawsuits for $20M
Cigna and its third-party claims administrator American Specialty Health agreed to a $20 million settlement that resolves two lawsuits concerning payment for chiropractic care.

3. Horizon BCBS sues physician advocacy group over 'smear campaign'
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey sued a physician advocacy group after the group urged patients to fight the insurer's new claim oversight contract.

4. BCBS of Louisiana unit's supplier suit heads to SCOTUS
A subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield requested the U.S. Supreme Court consider an opinion favoring medical equipment and staffing firm Encompass Office Solutions, which sued the insurer over benefit payments and defamation.

5. Humana sues Mallinckrodt over '97,500%' increase in gel price            
Humana filed a lawsuit against Mallinckrodt, alleging the drugmaker partook in "one of the most outrageous price-gouging schemes in the history of American medicine."
