22 payer exec moves in January

The following payer executives changed their positions in the past month.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Terry Bolz, president and CEO of Quartz Health Solutions, is retiring.

2. HealthPartners hired Patrick Courneya, MD, as chief health plan medical officer.

3. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee named David Criswell vice president of strategy and innovation.

4. Gateway Health named Rhonda Curry chief human resources officer.

5. EmblemHealth appointed Richard Dal Col, MD, as CMO of its health insurance companies. 

6. Molina Healthcare appointed Jason Dees, DO, as executive vice president of marketplace.

7. True Health New Mexico named Mark Epstein, MD, CEO.

8. Rhonda Farriss was appointed director of BlueCare Plus, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee's Medicare and Medicaid program.

9. Peoples Health promoted Crystal Harry to vice president of quality, stars and HEDIS program.

10. Security Health Plan of Wisconsin named Krista Hoglund chief actuary and financial officer.

11. Cambia Health Solutions welcomed Oliver Kim as director of federal policy.

12. Trustmark Mutual Holding Co. selected Britt Lindley as chief information security officer.

13. Highmark named John Lufburrow vice president of sales for central and northeastern Pennsylvania regions.

14. Molina Healthcare named Dave Reynolds senior vice president of health plans.

15. Highmark appointed Brian Rinker as market president for central and northeastern Pennsylvania regions.

16. Anthem named Charles Ritz president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Colorado. 

17. Regence BlueShield of Idaho appointed Jayson Ronk as its first vice president of government affairs.

18. Marc Russo joined Molina Healthcare as executive vice president of Medicaid health plans.

19. Pam Sedmak at Molina Healthcare will transition from executive vice president of health plan operations to focus solely on revenue growth initiatives.

20. Health insurance startup Bright Health welcomed Cathy Smith, former CFO of Target, as its finance chief.

21. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama named Michael Velezis vice president and general counsel.

22. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee appointed Scott Wilson vice president of corporate communications and community relations.
