California VA hospital evacuates 40 over suspicious package

Fresno, Calif.-based Veterans Affairs Medical Center evacuated 40 people Aug. 20 after a suspicious package was found outside one of its buildings, according to The Fresno Bee.

A bomb squad was deployed to investigate the package sitting outside its mental health counseling and administration building.

After taking an X-ray of the package, police determined there was not a threat and the package was a hoax.

Hospital operations have retuned to normal.
