3rd Michigan medical facility temporarily closes due to water issues

Beaumont Medical Center-West Bloomfield (Mich.) temporarily closed Tuesday after a water main break in suburban Detroit Monday evening.

While the medical building and all official medical services have been closed, some private physicians may still be active in the building, officials said in a statement on the hospital's website.

All surgeries scheduled to be performed at the medical building have been rescheduled or relocated to Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak (Mich.), Click On Detroit reports.

In a statement to Click On Detroit, officials said they will monitor the status of the water and will not resume medical services in any affected area until testing confirms the safety of the water.

Beaumont Medical Center-West Bloomfield is the third medical facility to be affected by the water main break. Novi, Mich.-based Providence Park Hospital and Bloomfield Township, Mich.-based Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital were both left without water service and forced to cancel all elective surgeries scheduled for Tuesday, according to CBS News.
