UC Davis, Dignity Health treat patients from area affected by Northern California wildfires

Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Medical Center and San Francisco-based Dignity Health's six Sacramento-area hospitals have received numerous patients from areas affected by the ongoing wildfires in Northern California, the Napa Valley Register reports.

A spokesperson for UC Davis Medical Center told the Napa Valley Register the hospital is treating nine patients from areas affected by the fires. The patients arrived at the facility Monday and Tuesday, the report states.

Dignity Health's Sacramento-area hospitals also received several patients, though a spokesperson for the health system told the Napa Valley Register the exact number of patients is unclear. The spokesperson also said the patients were not being treated for fire-related injuries.

The ongoing fires forced two hospitals in Northern California — Sutter Santa Rosa (Calif.) Regional Hospital and Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa (Calif.) Medical Center — to close Monday. Patients evacuated from both facilities were reportedly transferred to other San Francisco Bay Area hospitals, the report states.
