Here are five things to know about the program.
1. Faculty physicians at the Keck School of Medicine of USC head the bariatric program, which is part of the university’s clinical enterprise, Keck Medicine of USC.
2. In the program, a cross-disciplinary team of endocrinologists, dieticians, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses and surgeons work alongside patients to create an individualized weight loss plan to ensure maintained results.
3. The program features a free weight loss seminar each month for individuals considering bariatric surgery or seeking more information on weight loss options.
4. The hospital also offers a bariatric support group open to members of the public.
5. Keck Medicine of USC’s bariatrics program received a Center of Excellence designation from the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Surgical Review Corporation, which makes bariatric surgery at the hospital Medicare-eligible.
