University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (Madison). UW Hospital and Clinics serves 600,000-plus patients and has 125 outpatient clinics. Within its orthopedic program, UW Hospitals and Clinics has four clinics dedicated to adult orthopedic and rehabilitation and six for pediatric orthopedics and rehabilitation. The hospital sees 32,000 unique patients in its orthopedic program annually and reports around 1,000 total joint replacement cases. As a participant on the CMS Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement model, UW Hospitals and Clinics achieved improvements in discharge disposition rates and average length of stay. The hospital’s average length of stay is currently 1.4 days and the program achieved an “Excellent” CJR Quality score. U.S. News &World Report ranked UW Hospital and Clinics among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for adult orthopedics in 2017-18.
