NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Gifted Neuroscience Department

NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center has received a gift from the Mortimer D. Sackler Foundation to fund the creation of the Sackler Brain and Spine Institute.

The Sackler Brain and Spine Institute will care for neurological and neurosurgical patients and will participate in neurological research and education, according to a news release.

The foundation’s gift allows NYP/WCMC to renovate sixth floor space to house all neurological specialties in one area. The gift also provides for state-of-the-art technology installation at the center, including an advanced MRI machine.

The gift also endows the institute to support faculty recruitment and provide research grants and fellowships to researchers and clinicians, according to the news release.
