Hoag Health System (Irvine, Calif.).Hoag Health System is home to the 7-year-old Hoag Orthopedic Institute, a joint venture between local orthopedic physicians and Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. The 70-bed HOI employs 228 specialty physicians, including 81 board-certified orthopedic surgeons who performed 1,461 hip replacements and 1,450 knee replacements in 2016, making HOI the highest-volume orthopedic center in California. U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for adult orthopedics.
