Brodstone Memorial Hospital (Superior, Neb.). In 1928, Evelyn Brodstone Vestey and her brother Lewis donated funds to the city of Superior to build a hospital in memory of their mother Mathilde. The hospital has grown since then, and now includes an attached clinic and a rural medical clinic in nearby Nelson, Neb. Patients tend to rate Brodstone Memorial Hospital highly on their HCAHPS scores, and as a result, the hospital has a four-star rating on CMS’ Hospital Compare. Additionally, iVantage Health Analytics has placed Brodstone on its Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals list every year for the last five years, most recently in 2015.
