Authorities confirmed no gunshots were fired, and the sounds reported as gunshots were most likely caused by a firecracker. One person reportedly heard the sounds. The explosion set off a fire alarm. Evidence of illegal fireworks was discovered at the hospital.
During the lockdown and later evacuation, commuters near the hospital were told to take alternate routes and nearby roads were closed, according to KRON4.
No suspect has been named. Officials are analyzing surveillance images.
