Vibra Healthcare Completes Purchase of Final 2 Kindred Hospitals

Vibra Healthcare in Mechanicsburg, Pa., has completed the purchase of the final two hospitals under contract for sale in a deal with Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare, according to a Central Penn Business Journal report.

Earlier this month, Vibra completed through an affiliate the $165.8 million purchase of 14 long-term acute-care hospitals containing 1,002 licensed beds from Kindred. Vibra bought the two additional facilities — a 44-bed inpatient medical rehabilitation hospital and a 135-bed skilled nursing facility — for $20.7 million.

Vibra originally agreed to purchase three additional hospitals, but Kindred removed the third facility from the transaction after the company was unable to satisfy the closing conditions for the facility.
