Joint Commission Releases New Hospital Accreditation Requirements

The Joint Commission has released revised requirements and scoring guidelines for its hospital accreditation program, which go into effect July 1.

The Joint Commission posted 165 new and revised requirements for its hospital program as part of its CMS application for deeming authority in January. However, several of these requirements were considered already existent elements of the survey process. The most recent revision of the guidelines include 87 new and revised requirements.
