A White House official told Roll Call an announcement could come as early as next week, when President Trump is expected to declare the U.S.’ opioid crisis a national emergency.
Earlier this year, the Trump administration circulated drafts of an executive order targeting drug prices, though it was eventually shelved while Republican leadership focused on repealing the ACA.
