Under the labor agreement, the hospital will hire 91 employees and maintain all current employees’ salaries with the potential to earn more if departments achieve positive patient outcomes. Hospital officials also agreed to spend 1 percent of its payroll toward education and training programs for employees.
The labor agreement comes after the University of Miami Medical School was criticized for laying off approximately 900 employees this past spring.
