Manufacturers in China, among other countries, have been sending synthetic opioids such as fentanyl through the U.S. postal service.
In June, the House passed a bill to better track and derail illicit synthetic opioids in the mail. However, the Senate has not deliberated over the bill yet.
“We can, and must, END THIS NOW!” President Trump tweeted Aug. 20. “The Senate should pass the STOP ACT — and firmly STOP this poison from killing our children and destroying our country. No more delay!”
