Authorities arrested Brian K. Anglin Wednesday evening. He is being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility on charges of aggravated assault, robbery and weapons offenses, according to jail records obtained by nj.com.

The unidentified victim, who is in her 60s, was stabbed in the abdomen while walking to her car in the hospital’s parking lot just before 8 p.m. Sunday following a 12-hour shift in the hospital’s labor and delivery unit, the report states. Mr. Anglin reportedly attempted to rob the woman before injuring her and fleeing the scene.

The nurse was able to stumble into the hospital’s emergency room, where she underwent surgery. A nurses union representative said Wednesday the victim was in stable condition, according to the report.
