Nurse stabbed outside of New Jersey hospital

A nurse at University Hospital in Newark, N.J., was stabbed Sunday evening just outside of the hospital’s emergency department, according to WABC-TV.

The nurse, who is in her late 60s, was walking to her car around 7:45 p.m. when a man attempted to rob her. The man stabbed the nurse in the stomach before fleeing.

The nurse stumbled back to the hospital after the attack and was rushed to surgery, according to the report. On Monday, she was listed as in critical but stable condition.

Police are investigating the incident, according to the report.
