Plastic surgeon imposter sentenced to 6 years in prison

A man who pretended to be a plastic surgeon and performed surgeries on multiple patients at a Denver medical clinic has been sentenced to six years in prison, according to a CBS Denver report.

Carlos Hernandez Fernandez, a surgical assistant, pleaded guilty to second-degree felony assault, criminal impersonation and unauthorized practice of a physician in April.

In a plea agreement, Mr. Fernandez agreed to pay $189,000 to the victims of his surgeries, according to CBS Denver. The six-year prison sentence was the maximum he could have received under the plea agreement.
