Michigan’s Beaumont Hospitals Names First Female COO

Beaumont Hospitals, Mich., has announced the appointment of K. Bobbi Carbone, MD, of Houston, Texas, as its new executive vice president and COO, according to a Beaumont news release.

Dr. Carbone will be the first physician and first female COO in Beaumont’s 55-year history. She comes to Beaumont from Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, where she served as COO. She has also worked as an independent healthcare industry consultant, as healthcare director and faculty member at Rice University Jones Graduate School of Management in Houston and in a series of executive positions with University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Dr. Carbone is a board-certified anesthesiologist who earned her MD from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. She will start her position at Beaumont on July 26.

Beaumont Hospitals is a three-hospital regional health care provider with a total of 1,744 licensed beds, 18,000 employees and 3,000 physicians in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne Counties in Mich.
