Titusville police say 29-year-old David Owens entered an elderly patient’s room at Parrish Medical Center last month and opened fire, killing the patient and a hospital employee who was in the room. Mr. Owens entered the 210-bed hospital through the emergency room and took the elevator to the third floor where he then entered the patient’s room.
Mr. Owens has suffered from mental health issues for several years, according to police.
