Jamere Miller, 36, accepted a plea deal that dismissed 10 other charges against him related to the murder of Patrice Wilson, RN. He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 1.

On May 13, Ms. Wilson was seen being abducted in a Detroit Medical Center parking lot, where a man entered her vehicle and forced her to leave, police said. Her body was found later that day in an SUV outside an apartment complex; she had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Miller, her ex-boyfriend, was charged in connection with the carjacking and slaying.

The family of Ms. Wilson is suing Detroit Medical Center and Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare for $200 million. They allege that Tenet and the hospital failed to follow active shooter protocol and delayed contacting the police, which contributed to the 29-year-old’s death.
