The federal allegations resulted from a civil lawsuit brought forth by two former employees of the hospital, alleging that the hospital billed Medicare for physicians’ services during surgeries that occurred when the physicians were not present.
As a result of the settlement, the hospital has also agreed to maintain its compliance program, report overpayments, notify the government of any ongoing investigations or legal proceedings, file annual reports and submit to audits and retain its records.
