According to court documents, the two companies told Regional West they intended to withdraw from their five-year contract on March 30 unless modifications were made to certain contract provisions. The firms indicated the contract, which has been in effect since August 2015, had become financially untenable.
Regional West sued the firms, saying the facility would lose its Level II trauma designation and that patient lives would suffer if the dialysis companies broke their contract without proper notice.
A Scottsbluff County District Court judge granted Regional West a temporary restraining order against Davita Health Partners and RenalTreatmentCenter Tuesday.
The judge set an April 8th deadline for both sides to submit a request for an additional hearing.
