Former Powell Valley CEO Pays $3.5M to Settle Fraud Suit

Paul Cardwell, the former CEO of Powell (Wyo.) Valley Healthcare, has agreed to pay $3.5 million to settle a fraud lawsuit, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report.

In March, Mr. Cardwell was indicted on 15 counts, including mail and wire fraud and money laundering, for an alleged embezzlement scheme that resulted in financial troubles for the hospital.

If approved by a judge, the settlement agreement would cancel Mr. Cardwell's pending trial, according to the Chronicle report.
