In March, Mr. Cardwell was indicted on 15 counts, including mail and wire fraud and money laundering, for an alleged embezzlement scheme that resulted in financial troubles for the hospital.
If approved by a judge, the settlement agreement would cancel Mr. Cardwell’s pending trial, according to the Chronicle report.
