MetroHealth’s chairman Bill Gaskill called the actions of the former executive “criminal,” but asked for support of the members of the board, who were unaware of the scheme, according to the report.

The board has voted to hire a new CEO for the ailing health system, which has experienced financial losses in seven of the last 10 years, following the scandal.
