Ariel Madero Paez, 56, owned Always Medical Supply in Stuart, Fla. In a five-month period in 2022, Mr. Madero’s company submitted $2.2 million in claims to the state’s Medicare program for medical equipment that the business never provided and beneficiaries never requested.
Mr. Madero pled guilty to the fraudulent billing on Aug. 4.
In addition to his prison sentence, Mr. Madero was ordered to pay $1.5 million in restitution to Medicare.
