CHP is the former operator of Beth Israel Medical Center and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center. The lawsuit alleges Beth Israel and St. Luke’s submitted improper claims to New York’s Medicaid program because of a computer error from 2009 to 2010, according to the report.
The 900 improper Medicaid claims were allegedly identified by CHP in 2011, but no steps were taken to repay the claims within 60 days. However, CHP repaid the claims in March 2013, after receiving a civil investigative demand from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York.
