Mr. Beverly also has to pay a $500,000 fine and $100 for each of his six counts of felony fraud. In December 2010, Mr. Beverly, 66, was convicted on six felony counts related to Medicare and Medicaid fraud. He falsified documents to state and federal officials as part of the fraud scheme, resulting in millions of dollars in illegitimate funds.

Mr. Beverly also bribed William Sellers, former CFO of Archbold Medical Center, to fabricate the documents, promising millions in return for Mr. Sellers to stay quiet. Mr. Sellers was sentenced to two years probation and a $5,000 fine after he agreed to a guilty plea, according to the report.

In total, Mr. Beverly left Archbold Medical Center with $6 million in compensation and benefits, but those payments would not have kicked in if he were convicted earlier.
