CMS: 6.6M Seniors Saved $7B on Drugs

CMS has announced that total Medicare savings on drugs due to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act thus far have amounted to $7 billion for 6.6 million people.

The savings come from the PPACA’s improved payment coverage for patients in the Medicare Part D coverage gap, also known as the “doughnut hole.”

Seniors have saved an average of $1,061 dollars each, according to a news release.
