Brownsville Doctors Hospital Faces $2M Suit From Creditor

Brownsville (Texas) Doctors Hospital is facing a $1.9 million suit from creditor Key Equipment Finance, according to a Brownsville Herald report.

The suit claims Key Equipment Finance lent the hospital more than $4 million for the purchase of medical equipment and software, for which the hospital signed 12 promissory notes in 2008, according to the report.

The suit aims to collect the $1.9 million Key Equipment Finance is allegedly still owed, in addition to court costs and collection fees, according to the report.

In May, state officials raided the hospital to collect more than $300,000 in back taxes, according to the report.
