Labcorp partners with BD for flow cytometry cancer diagnostics

Labcorp is partnering with BD to develop flow cytometry-based companion diagnostics for diseases including cancer.

The companies will collaborate with biopharmaceutical partners for exploratory panel development and FDA approval of diagnostic and IVD kit manufacturing and distribution, BD said Aug. 9.

Flow cytometry is most commonly used in diagnostics for analyzing bone marrow, blood and other bodily fluids. It can detect the patterns of antigens on cells, which may indicate the presence of leukemia, lymphoma or other diseases.
