Labcorp is the only commercial lab to offer Weavr Health’s Velvet blood collection device, according to a May 16 news release. The device is part of the testing kit, which is available through Labcorp OnDemand.
The Labcorp OnDemand Diabetes Risk test measures hemoglobin A1c from a small, dried sample of blood. The Weavr Velvet device separates plasma and red blood cells to provide an in-depth analysis of the sample. After collection, the device is designed to be returned to Labcorp in a prepaid FedEx envelope, the release said.
