Top 10 cities for healthcare AI jobs

As the healthcare industry increasingly embraces artificial intelligence, some regions are emerging as hot spots for the budding technology.

St. Paul, Minn.-based St. Catherine University analyzed the 100 most populous U.S. cities by the ratio of healthcare AI job openings posted for every 1,000 positions for the sector overall. The national average was 7.46. The roles might include healthcare AI project manager, health data analyst and medical data scientist.

Here are the 10 U.S. cities with the highest ratios of healthcare job listings on LinkedIn that mention AI for every 1,000 positions in the industry, according to the June report:

1. Durham, N.C.: 28.88

2. Colorado Springs, Colo.: 28.49

3. Provo, Utah: 13.55

4. Ogden, Utah: 13.42

5. McAllen, Texas: 11.97

    Wilmington, N.C.: 11.97

7. Stockton, Calif.: 11.73

8. Daytona Beach, Fla.: 11.58

9. Baton Rouge, La.: 11.37

10. Lakeland, Fla.: 11.11
