Mon Health wins plastic surgery innovation award

The innovation arm of Morgantown, W.V.-based Mon Health, won the top innovator award at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons annual meeting Oct. 28 in Boston.

Intermed Labs garnered the honor for its Fingy3D device, a 3D-printed finger prosthetic. The award came with a $10,000 prize to advance the project. The device will soon begin a pilot trial at Seattle-based University of Washington and Atlanta-based Emory University.

"Intermed Labs at Mon Health has created the startup environment needed for innovators to succeed globally, as evidenced by industry leaders visiting Morgantown, using our products, and evaluating our future innovations," said David Goldberg, president and CEO of Mon Health and executive vice president of parent system Vandalia Health, in a Nov. 3 Mon Health news release. "I have no doubt that we can build a flourishing medtech ecosystem within the state."
