Tenn. hospital seeks employees ahead of reopening

West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Rennova Health opened an online portal to assist in hiring employees for Oneida, Tenn.-based Big South Fork Medical Center.

Rennova acquired the hospital in January. The next month, it renamed the facility, which was formerly known as Scott County Community Hospital.

Rennova said the hospital received nearly 200 job applications within hours of opening the online job portal to community members.

"We continue to believe we are on schedule to reopen this hospital in the second quarter [of 2017], and look forward to the provision of a needed service to the community," said Joseph Herrod, who is leading the hospital division for Rennova, in a news release. "Where possible, we will hire people from the local community and initial applications indicate that many previous employees are looking forward to getting their jobs back. The hospital will employ approximately 130 people in full operation."

Big South Fork Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital, features an emergency department, operating rooms and a laboratory offering various ancillary diagnostic services, according to the release.
