Erie, Pa.-based UPMC Hamot President David Gibbons, RN, recently highlighted various developments at the hospital during an annual dinner and community meeting.
Here are four things to know from his remarks.
1. Last year, UPMC Hamot experienced a record 28,200 inpatient and observation visits, 79,700 emergency department visits, 2,300 births, nearly 12,900 surgeries, and more than 245,000 primary care visits, according to Mr. Gibbons.
2. UPMC has added 600 jobs in Erie County since 2011.
3. Over the past year, the hospital recruited more than 40 new physicians.
4. UPMC Hamot became the first hospital in the region to perform kidney transplants, according to hospital officials.
