The nurses, represented by SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, voted to ratify the contract by a 96 percent majority, according to the union.
The contract includes a wage increase of 2 percent, 2.5 percent and 2.5 percent each year of the contract, as well as a cap on healthcare premium increases, the union said. It also includes hiring an additional 30 nurses above current job postings.
The contract was ratified after nurses worked since the beginning of 2017 under terms of the old contract, and after the union authorized its negotiating team last December to issue a 10-day strike notice, according to the report.
