Unionized San Leandro Hospital Nurses Get New Contract After Merger

When San Leandro (Calif.) Hospital becomes part of Oakland, Calif.-based Alameda Health System at the end of this month, its 200 unionized nurses will have a new contract, according to San Francisco Business Times report.

San Leandro Hospital is currently part of Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health.

The California Nurses Association represents the hospital’s nurses. The new contract with Alameda Health System includes some standards from the union’s deal with Sutter Health with some improvements in retiree health and pension benefits, according to the report.
