The pharmacy will only be available to employees on the hospital’s health plan and their dependents, roughly 1,780 people, according to the report. Lawrence Memorial stands to save between $200,000 and $300,000 annually if employees choose to use the pharmacy. Prescriptions were responsible for 20 percent of the hospital health plan’s total costs last year.
Additionally, Lawrence Memorial plans to offer some financial incentive to employees who use the pharmacy, according to the report.
