Here are four things to know about the vendor change and affected workers.
1. Philadelphia-based Aramark, which currently provides environmental services for the hospital, has indicated that 432 employees would be laid off when their contract Cincinnati Children’s expires Sept. 30.
2. A new provider, Wayne, Pa.-based Crothall Healthcare, will begin working for the hospital at the beginning of October, according to the report, which cites information from Cincinnati Children’s representative Terry Loftus.
3. The 432 affected employees, who are in cleaning services and related jobs, will be able to reapply at Crothall to continue their job at Cincinnati Children’s. According to WCPO, Mr. Loftus said about 405 of the employees have already reapplied.
4. Mr. Loftus told WCPO that the hospital expected “the vast majority” of workers would be rehired and receive comparable wages and benefits.
