The healthcare job gain was at a slower pace than the industry’s average monthly gain (39,000) over the past 12 months, according to the BLS.
Ambulatory healthcare services contributed 12,900 jobs last month. However, nursing and residential care facilities lost 9,200 jobs.
Overall, total employment in the U.S. grew by 151,000 jobs in August.
