That’s in line with the average increase of 38,000 jobs per month over the past year.
Within the healthcare industry, hospital employment grew the most, by 15,500 jobs in September. Ambulatory healthcare services was next, with 12,900 jobs. Most of those came from physician offices (6,800), but outpatient care centers (2,700) and home healthcare services (2,500) also contributed.
Nursing and residential care facilities added 6,000 jobs last month.
