The “minimum living wage” policy change — effective during the health system’s Aug. 13 pay period — will affect approximately 200 employees across its three hospitals and various health facilities, the report states.

“Our employees spend their days caring for others and doing very important [work],” said Robert Wilson, president and CEO of DeKalb Medical and vice chair of the health system’s board of directors. “It stands to reason that we should respect each position and every employee enough to pay at least a livable wage.”
