Members of Service Employees International Union Healthcare Pennsylvania at Geisinger Lewistown (Pa.) Hospital have approved a new labor contract.
The agreement, which runs from Jan. 15, 2026, through Nov. 14, 2028, covers 160 workers and includes total wage increases ranging from 9.25% to 20%, a ratification bonus of up to $700 and improvements to workplace safety, scheduling, and on-call processes, according to a union news release shared with Becker’s.
SEIU Healthcare PA represents a range of roles at the hospital, including nursing assistants, environmental services workers, dietary aides and patient transporters.
“This new contract will help us attract and keep staff so we can do the best job possible,” Angel McConaughey, a certified environmental services specialist and union delegate, said in the release. “Now I’m looking forward to working together with my coworkers to continue building our unity and strength.”
Geisinger confirmed the agreement in a statement shared with Becker’s.
“Geisinger is pleased to have reached a mutually agreeable labor contract with our SEIU-represented team members who play a critical role in the delivery of care at Geisinger Lewistown,” AJ Hartsock, associate vice president of operations, said in the statement. “We look forward to continuing caring for our community together.”
